Press Release on COVID-19 Outbreak

Oak Hill Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 (the “District”) was created by the Washington County, Texas, Commissioners Court on August 11, 1969, some four years after the initial plat was approved for the Oak Hill Acres subdivision on June 14, 1965.

The District is a political subdivision of the State of Texas created to conserve, transport, and distribute fresh water for domestic and commercial purposes. The District finds its authority under Chapter 53 of the Texas Water Code. It is governed by an elected Board of Directors that volunteer their time and energy in service to the District.

The District is now over 50 years old. As with most water districts in Texas, it faces challenges with its attempts to balance the need to replace and improve aging infrastructure with reasonable water rates. It is recognized that a viable water system is key to maintaining property values within the District.
